More than 200 students from “Traian” Secondary School - Craiova (Romania) were involved in the MONEY SCHOOL ON WHEELS project, a component of MONEY SCHOOL, a national financial education programme of the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR - Banca Comerciala Romana), a programme for children, adolescents and adults.
The Project "Money on Wheels School" aims to educate children aged between 7 and 14 years old about how to become aware of the importance of money management. The children participated an interactive financial education workshops in a specially adapted truck where they had the opportunity to go through different stages of understanding and awareness of how we use money in the economy.
The project has started from the idea that we need to teach children at an early age that money is gaining hard through work and can be spent very easily if we are not sufficiently aware of how we should manage it. Using experiential learning and special games created by specialists at the University of Vienna, children had accumulated knowledge that they can use all their lives.
